Modular Liquid Manure Storage

About the modular liquid manure store

A closed, buried tank for collecting and temporarily storing the liquid fraction of manure and effluents. It is assembled from steel cylindrical modules, with mixing and pumping done by VTN pumps. Installation needs no permanent foundation.

A 100–200 m³ tank — without a concrete build

A concrete lagoon means a design, formwork, reinforcement, weeks of curing and sediment along the walls for the whole of its life. The modular liquid manure store is assembled from steel cylindrical modules on a compacted sand bed — no permanent foundation is needed. Mixing and pumping are built in: a VTN mixer and pump work inside the tanks themselves, so the mass does not silt up and the tank empties completely.

Advantages of the design

  • Volume to match the task 100–200 m³ per intake point; the volume is built up from modules and the system can be extended.
  • No permanent construction No formwork, no reinforcement and no weeks of concrete curing: the modules are set on a compacted sand bed.
  • No silting, and it empties completely A VTN mixer and pump work inside the tanks: mixing in the intake area, intake from the bottom.
  • Closed, buried design No open surface: less odour, and rainfall does not dilute the contents; it meets the watertightness requirements for liquid manure stores.
  • Filling by sections Two or more modules are filled in turn.
  • Steel with anti-corrosion treatment Inside and outside; module wall thickness 9–11 mm.
  • Built to suit your farm Price and lead time on request.

How it works

  1. Intake from the building — by gravity or by a screw conveyor.
  2. Steel modules connected by overflow links.
  3. A VTN mixer keeps the mass homogeneous.
  4. A VTN pump discharges through a gooseneck into a tanker or into a pressure line.
  5. Servicing of the units — through hatches with lifting gantries.

A closed tank is also a legal requirement

The Water Code of Belarus (Art. 53) requires farms in water protection zones to be equipped with watertight manure stores and liquid manure stores. A sealed steel body meets that watertightness requirement. The cost of breaking the rule is real: the compensation rate for unlawful placement of manure is 196.0 base units per tonne, at the base unit rate on the date of the inspection report (Annex 14 to Council of Ministers Resolution No. 219); administrative fines come on top of it. A liquid manure store is a 100–200 m³ buffer tank for the liquid fraction; it does not replace the farm's six-month manure store.

Reviews from farms

These letters of thanks and reviews were addressed to the manufacturer of the series, VitTechNasos LLC; today the VTN series is built by NPO-Organika, the successor to that manufacturer.

The work was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the applicable law and with the technical specification, with dependable quality and within the agreed deadline. During the work the staff of VitTechNasos LLC proved to be skilled and highly qualified specialists.

Modular liquid manure store — frequently asked questions

Is a foundation needed?

A permanent reinforced-concrete one is not: the modules are installed on a compacted sand bed; where the groundwater table is high they are anchored to ballast slabs (settled when the project is tied to the site).

What is the store made of?

Thick-walled steel cylindrical modules (9–11 mm wall) with an anti-corrosion coating inside and outside.

What mixes and pumps the contents?

Submersible VTN mixers and pumps installed inside the tanks themselves: the mass does not stratify, the tank empties completely, and no separate machinery is needed to break up sediment.

Can the volume be increased later?

Yes: the design is modular, so another tank section is added.

What about odour and effluents?

The design is closed and buried, with a gas vent; there is no open surface, and the sealed body rules out effluents reaching the ground.

Why is this better than a concrete lagoon?

Because it is not construction work: no monolith design, no formwork and no weeks of concrete curing — the modules are set on a compacted sand bed. Sediment does not build up along the walls: a VTN mixer and pump work inside the tanks, so the mass is stirred and drawn from the bottom. The volume grows by adding a module — a concrete basin cannot be extended that way.
